The network route is the part that most people get wrong. What AdsPower expects from a proxy
AdsPower lets you attach a proxy to every profile individually. The proxy section of the profile settings asks for a type, a host, a port and optional credentials, and it offers a check action that resolves the proxy and reports the exit IP, country and often the city. AdsPower can then derive the timezone, language and geolocation of the profile from that exit IP, which is the setting you want enabled for mobile proxies.
Because the check runs before the profile launches, it is also your first line of defence against typos. A proxy that fails the check will not silently fall back to your home connection, but a profile that was never checked can. Get into the habit of testing every proxy at least once after you paste it in.
Step-by-step: adding a GlobalProxies proxy to a profile
Start in the GlobalProxies dashboard. Every proxy you own is listed with its host, an HTTP port, a SOCKS5 port, a username, a password and a rotation link. Copy those values into a scratch note before you open AdsPower so you are not switching windows mid-form.
Then work through the profile in order.
- Create a new profile or open an existing one and go to the proxy section of its settings.
- Pick the proxy type. HTTP works for almost every web workflow; choose SOCKS5 if the profile will run tools that speak UDP or if you prefer a protocol-agnostic tunnel.
- Paste the host and the port that matches the type you selected. Our HTTP and SOCKS5 ports are different numbers on the same host.
- Enter the username and password exactly as shown in the dashboard, with no trailing spaces.
- Run the proxy check. You should see a US exit IP with a carrier name such as AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon in the ISP field.
- Leave timezone, geolocation and language set to follow the proxy IP, then save and launch the profile.
Sticky sessions or rotating IPs for AdsPower work
For account management the answer is almost always sticky. A logged-in session that suddenly appears from a different IP mid-browse is a classic trigger for verification prompts, so keep the proxy on its current address while a profile is open. Our proxies hold an IP until you ask for a change, which is exactly the behaviour a browser profile wants.
Rotation still has a place. When a profile is closed and will not be used again for a while, hitting the rotation link from the dashboard gives it a fresh carrier address for its next session, and rotations are unlimited on every GlobalProxies plan. For research and ad verification tasks where no login is involved, per-request rotation can be useful, but for AdsPower profiles we recommend rotating between sessions rather than during them.
Scaling to dozens of profiles
The cleanest rule is one proxy per profile. Sharing a single mobile IP across several profiles is not fatal, since carrier addresses are shared by many real subscribers anyway, but it makes troubleshooting harder and links accounts that you may want to keep separate. Budget for a proxy per active profile and use AdsPower groups to keep them organised.
Grouping by city pays off as you grow. We run our own hardware in eight US metros including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, North Carolina and Boston, and a profile whose shipping address, language and proxy city agree looks far more coherent than one that mixes them. Name your AdsPower groups after the metro the proxies sit in and assign profiles accordingly. If a client moves or you need a different metro later, location moves are free — just ask.
If you automate with AdsPower's RPA features or its local API, treat the proxy assignment as part of the profile template. Creating profiles programmatically with the proxy fields filled in avoids the manual copy-paste stage entirely and keeps every profile checked before its first launch.
Troubleshooting common AdsPower proxy issues
Most problems trace back to a handful of causes.
- Authentication failed: the port does not match the type, or a character was dropped from the password. Re-copy both from the GlobalProxies dashboard and re-run the check.
- Geolocation mismatch: the profile has a manually set timezone that disagrees with the exit IP. Switch timezone and geolocation back to the automatic, IP-based option.
- WebRTC leak warnings: enable AdsPower's WebRTC masking so the browser reports the proxy address rather than your local one. This is a browser setting, not a proxy setting.
- IP changed mid-session: someone hit the rotation link, or an automation script rotated on a schedule. Rotate only when the profile is closed.
- Slow page loads: check the carrier signal in the dashboard. Our 4G typically delivers 20–45 Mbps and 5G 50+ Mbps, so a sudden crawl usually means a busy tower rather than the proxy itself. A rotation often lands you on a quieter cell.
Why carrier IPs matter for anti-detect browsing
Anti-detect browsers do a good job of making each profile look like a distinct device, but the network layer is judged separately. Sites see the autonomous system behind an address, and an address owned by a hosting company tells a very different story from one owned by a US mobile carrier. Should I use HTTP or SOCKS5 in AdsPower?
Either works for normal browsing. HTTP is the simpler choice and is what most AdsPower users pick. SOCKS5 is worth choosing if the profile needs UDP traffic or if you run non-browser tools through the same proxy.
Can one GlobalProxies proxy serve several AdsPower profiles?
It can, and sometimes that is intentional, for example when several team members work on accounts for the same client in the same city. For unrelated accounts we recommend one proxy per profile so that a problem with one never touches the others.
Does the proxy IP stay the same when I reopen a profile?
Yes. Our proxies hold their address until you trigger a rotation from the dashboard, the rotation link or the API. Carrier networks occasionally reassign addresses on their own, but that is uncommon and the new address will still be from the same carrier and metro.
How much data will a day of AdsPower work use?
Ordinary browsing of social platforms, ad managers and marketplaces uses far less than the 15 GB of data per day included with every proxy. Video-heavy tasks use more, so if a workflow streams a lot of media, keep an eye on the usage counter in the dashboard.
Can I change the city of my proxy later?
Yes. Location moves are free, just ask our support team and we will move the proxy to another metro where we have capacity, after which you update the host and port in the affected AdsPower profiles and re-run the check.
