Google Mobile Proxies for Accounts, Search and Local Results

Google is less a platform than a set of them: Search, Google Business Profile, Maps, the account itself, and the ad and analytics products hanging off it. What they share is a suspicion of hosting IPs and a long memory for the addresses that touch an account. Local results depend on where Google thinks you are

For rank checks and Google Business audits, the exit IP is the whole point. Google localises results by the location it infers, and for a carrier IP that inference lands on the metro or state. A Phoenix line will return the Phoenix map pack for a plumber query; a Boston line will not. Our lines cover New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, North Carolina and Boston, so an agency with clients in several of those metros can check each one from the right side of the map. Pair the line with a browser profile whose language and time zone match the city.

Because carrier geolocation is approximate, do not read a mobile IP as a street address. It is right for metro-level questions such as whether a client appears in the local pack or which competitor holds the top listing, and wrong for block-by-block grid tracking. For that, use the search location parameter alongside the mobile IP so the address and the stated location agree with each other rather than contradict, which is the cleanest signal you can give.

Sticky for accounts, rotating for Search

Google accounts want stability. Sign-ins, recovery prompts and Google Business edits all weigh the IP against the account's history, and a session that changes address halfway through is what triggers the verification loop. Hold sticky for anything logged in, and rotate only between sessions or between clients. Logged-out Search checks are the opposite case: you want each query to look like a separate user, and repeated queries from one address are how Google decides to show its unusual traffic page. Use the rotation link between batches of queries. The modem re-attaches to the carrier gateway and receives another address from the regional pool, which is finite, so an address you saw yesterday may return.

Why Google tolerates a mobile IP

Carrier-grade NAT puts many real phones behind one public address, so Google has to assume that any mobile IP is a crowd. Blocking one would block ordinary Android users searching from the same tower, which is why mobile addresses get a lighter automated response than a hosting range where every address maps to one server. That is the mechanism, not a promise: a Google account that behaves badly will be treated badly whatever network it arrives on, and Google's terms apply unchanged. The proxy changes the network path only. What it removes is the hosting-IP penalty that turns a routine sign-in into a chain of verification prompts.

Google accounts per line

Google is less tolerant of dense account clusters than social platforms. Workspace admins running client accounts usually keep two or three accounts per line and group them by client, so one client's recovery prompt never involves another client's account. New accounts are the most sensitive; give a freshly created account its own sticky line for the first weeks before grouping it. If you manage Google Business Profiles, keep the manager account and the profiles it administers on the same line and the same metro as the business.

Track the mapping in a sheet: account, line, metro, browser profile. When a line is replaced, move the whole group at once from your GlobalProxies dashboard. Splitting a group across two lines gives Google two IP histories for accounts that used to share one, which is a change it will notice even if it does not act on it immediately. Consistency is cheaper than explaining a lockout to a client.

Reading Google's interstitials

The unusual traffic page with a CAPTCHA means query volume from this IP tripped a threshold; it is not tied to your account, and rotating to a fresh address and slowing the query rate clears it. A verify-it's-you prompt on sign-in usually follows an IP or device change, so confirm the line held sticky. A request for a recovery phone on a new account is Google's normal new-account posture and not a network issue. If Google Business asks for video verification, that is about the business, not the proxy, and no line will change it.

When a check will not clear, confirm the exit IP in your dashboard shows a carrier and the expected metro before touching the account again. A line mid-rotation shows no address for a few seconds. Setting up a Google proxy on GlobalProxies

  1. In the GlobalProxies dashboard, order a line in the metro whose local results you need to see.
  2. Copy host, port, username and password, choosing HTTP or SOCKS5 to match your tool.
  3. Enter them in the browser profile's proxy settings, your rank tracker's proxy field, or the phone's Wi-Fi proxy.
  4. Search for a known local query to confirm the map pack matches the city, then hold sticky for any signed-in work.

Google proxy questions

Does Google allow mobile proxies?

Using a proxy is not itself a violation of Google's terms. What the terms restrict is behaviour: automated querying beyond what Google permits, misrepresenting who controls an account, or manipulating Business Profile information. A proxy changes the route your traffic takes, not what you are permitted to do. Keep the account activity legitimate and the network becomes a non-issue.

Rotating or sticky for Google?

Sticky for anything signed in, including Gmail, Workspace and Google Business Profile edits. Rotating for logged-out Search checks where each query should stand alone. You can run both patterns on one line at different times, but do not rotate while a signed-in session is open or you invite a verification prompt.

How many Google accounts per line?

Two or three per line is common practice among agencies, grouped by client. New accounts deserve their own line for a few weeks. There is no published figure and we make no guarantee; the number is about containing exposure so a problem on one account does not touch accounts that belong to somebody else.

Can I use it on my phone for Google apps?

Yes. Set the proxy on the phone's Wi-Fi network and Chrome, Maps and the Google app will route through it. Android accepts an HTTP proxy in the network's advanced settings; iOS has the same option under Configure Proxy. Check the exit IP in a browser before signing into anything.

Do you have US IPs for Google local checks?

Will Google load slower through a mobile proxy?

Search pages are light and load without noticeable delay on a 4G line at 20-45 Mbps; 5G lines at 50+ Mbps handle Maps and Drive uploads comfortably. Latency is a little higher than a wired connection because traffic crosses the carrier core. Rank trackers running many queries should pace requests rather than push for speed.
