LinkedIn Mobile Proxies: US Carrier IPs for Profile Work
LinkedIn is the most conservative of the large networks about who is behind a profile. It expects one real person, a consistent device and a stable location, and it tests all three more often than people expect. Sticky is the default on LinkedIn
LinkedIn ties a session to device, cookies and IP, and it is quick to ask for a fresh sign-in when any of them shifts. Hold sticky for the life of a working session and, ideally, for the life of the profile on that line. Our sticky mode holds the carrier IP until you rotate, and there is rarely a reason to rotate a LinkedIn line at all. Rotating mode has a narrow use here: logged-out checks of a company page or job listing from several addresses, or verifying how a public profile renders. Do not rotate while a profile is signed in; that is the surest way to trigger a verification prompt.
Grouping profiles on a line
LinkedIn is the platform where fewer profiles per line pays most. Recruiters and sales teams running seats for several people usually keep one or two profiles per line, and never profiles that belong to different companies. The reason is containment: LinkedIn reviews connected behaviour, and profiles sharing an IP are connected in its eyes. Two colleagues from the same company sharing a line is a story LinkedIn already sees every day from office Wi-Fi. Two unrelated clients sharing a line is a story that makes no sense if one of them is restricted.
Keep each profile in its own browser profile with its own cookies, and never sign the same profile in from a line and from the person's own phone at the same time. If a team grows, add a line from your GlobalProxies dashboard per new pair rather than stacking a third profile onto an existing one. The extra cost is small next to a restricted seat that a recruiter depends on.
Why a carrier IP suits LinkedIn traffic
LinkedIn's mobile app is how a large share of its members use it, and that traffic arrives from carrier addresses shared by many phones through carrier-grade NAT. LinkedIn cannot treat such an address as a single actor, so it leans on behaviour and device signals instead, and it tends to reserve its hardest network-level responses for hosting ranges. Location consistency for professional profiles
A LinkedIn profile states a location in plain text, and LinkedIn can compare that to the network. Match them. Carrier geolocation resolves to the metro or state, not the suburb, so a profile in Cambridge on a Boston line is a normal match. Set the browser profile's time zone to the line's zone and keep activity inside local working hours; a profile that posts at three in the morning local time draws attention it does not need.
Travelling staff are the exception. If someone signs in from their own phone while abroad, LinkedIn sees the change either way; do not try to mask it by switching lines, simply expect a verification prompt and let the person complete it. Once they are home, return to the usual line and the profile's history settles again. Chasing a moving person with proxy changes creates more inconsistency than the trip itself.
What LinkedIn restrictions mean
A request to verify identity with a code is routine after any device or IP change and clears on the same line. A temporary restriction citing automated activity is about pace: too many connection requests, profile views or messages in a window, and a new IP will not remove it. A restriction asking for a government ID is LinkedIn asserting that it doubts the person exists; no network change addresses that, and the honest route is for the real person to complete it. A page that refuses to load at all is usually the line, not LinkedIn.

Setting up a LinkedIn proxy on GlobalProxies

Is a mobile proxy against LinkedIn's rules?
LinkedIn's User Agreement does not prohibit using a proxy; it prohibits things like fake profiles, scraping it has not permitted, and automation tools that act on your behalf. A proxy changes the network path only. Run real people's profiles with their consent, keep activity manual or within tools LinkedIn allows, and the network is not the concern.
Sticky or rotating for LinkedIn?
Sticky, almost always. LinkedIn treats an IP change during a signed-in session as a reason to re-verify. Hold one carrier IP for as long as the profile lives on that line. Rotation is only useful for logged-out checks such as viewing a job listing or company page from several fresh addresses.
How many LinkedIn profiles per line?
One or two, and only profiles from the same company. LinkedIn connects behaviour across profiles that share an address, so unrelated clients should never share a line. We do not publish a safe number and none exists; fewer profiles per line is the lever that limits how far one restriction can spread.
Can I use it with the LinkedIn app on my phone?
Yes. Set the proxy on the phone's Wi-Fi network, on Android under advanced options and on iOS under Configure Proxy, and the LinkedIn app routes through it. Check the exit IP in a browser first. Turn mobile data off while working so the app cannot fall back to the handset's own carrier.
